Stepping into a Season of Grief and Joy

This past month has been filled with change for our family. We recently completed a cross-country trip to help our daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren relocate to North Carolina. As many of you know, family is one of God’s greatest gifts, so this move has brought a mixture of emotions.

I find myself holding both grief and gratitude. Grief because I am saying goodbye to having my entire family living in the same area. There is a sadness that comes with no longer being able to drop by for a quick hug, attend school and sporting events, or enjoy the big family dinners.

Yet with that grief is excitement. I am excited about the opportunities God is providing for them in their new community. I look forward to watching Him write the next chapter of their story and discovering the ways He will use them in their new home.

When I think about this season, I’m reminded that God often calls us to step into unfamiliar places. Whether it’s moving across the country, beginning a new chapter, or following His leading into the unknown, we can trust that He goes before us. Paul is great example of trusting God in challenging times.

Walking the streets where Paul preached, seeing the ancient ruins, and standing in places I had only read about in Scripture brought the Bible to life in a fresh and powerful way.

I wanted to share that experience with you. At each port, I recorded a short video vignette highlighting the biblical significance of the location and the lessons we can learn from Paul’s life and ministry. In this email, you’ll find the links to the Footsteps of Paul video series.
